Hunt Hill Farm to Host TPL's First Concert on the Land
Aug 01, 2025
We are thrilled to announce a unique and inspiring event at Hunt Hill Farm! On Sunday, October 19th, we will partner with the esteemed Trust for Public Land (TPL) to host their inaugural "Concert on the Land." This special afternoon will celebrate the powerful connection between music, nature, and community, set against the backdrop of our historic and beautiful farm. We invite you to join us for an unforgettable experience that promises to stir the soul and inspire a deeper appreciation for our shared landscapes.
This partnership is a celebration of a shared vision. For years, both Hunt Hill Farm and the Trust for Public Land have worked to protect precious natural spaces and create opportunities for people to connect with the land. This event brings our missions together in a beautiful symphony of art and conservation.
A Legacy of Partnership and Preservation
This collaboration holds special significance, as it honors a long-standing relationship between our organizations. More than two decades ago, the Trust for Public Land worked directly with our founders, Ruth and Skitch Henderson, to ensure that Hunt Hill Farm would be preserved for future generations to enjoy. This concert is not just an event; it's a continuation of that legacy.
Alessandro Piovezahn, President of the Hunt Hill Farm Trust, shared his excitement about the upcoming event. "We are incredibly honored to be chosen as the host for the Trust for Public Land's first 'Concert on the Land,'" he said. "Learning about the close and long-lasting relationship between TPL and Hunt Hill Farm makes this collaboration even more fascinating. It feels like we are bringing history full circle, celebrating a partnership that began with a shared commitment to protect this special place. We are excited to welcome the community to experience the magic that happens when art and nature come together."
An Afternoon of Music and Nature
The centerpiece of the afternoon will be a captivating musical performance by the acclaimed composer-performer, Ben Cosgrove. Known for his "sonic plein-air" style, Ben's music explores themes of landscape, place, and the environment. His compositions, which have been featured in projects for NASA, the National Park Service, and Ken Burns' documentaries, are the perfect soundtrack for an event celebrating our connection to the land. Prepare to be moved as his music echoes through the rolling hills of Hunt Hill Farm.
The event will be open to the public, offering a wonderful opportunity for our community to gather and share in this unique experience. "We are so excited to welcome everyone to Hunt Hill Farm for this special concert," says Rachel Ciborowski, Associate Director of Philanthropy, Mid-Atlantic Region for TPL. "It will be a fantastic gathering of people who appreciate art, music, and the importance of preserving our natural and historic sites."
We are also pleased to welcome several key members from the Trust for Public Land team, including Carter Homes, the vice president, regional director, and Connecticut state director for TPL. Their presence underscores the importance of this event and the strength of our partnership.
Join Us for a Celebration of Land, Arts, and Community
This event is more than just a concert; it is a testament to what can be achieved through collaboration. As a UN-accredited NGO since 2022, Hunt Hill Farm Trust is deeply committed to the principles of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG #17: Partnerships for the Goals. This event is a living example of that commitment, demonstrating how organizations can unite to create a positive and lasting impact.
We invite you, your family, and your friends to join us for what promises to be a memorable afternoon. Come and experience the beauty of Hunt Hill Farm, enjoy the inspiring music of Ben Cosgrove, and celebrate the vital work of land preservation.
